Cultural activities San Marino
Four theaters, a national library, a high-quality public school system, a prestigious music conservatory, a State television station (RTV) and an ever-growing university campus. San Marino has always invested in its culture: fundamental for the preparation of its citizens who will one day govern the Country. A "Liceo Classico" - a secondary school specializing in classical studies - was the first secondary school created in San Marino for the formation of the future governing class. Today this historic secondary school also offers specializations in the sciences and in languages.
Today, the scholastic sector on which San Marino is concentrating its efforts is the university. The State University was founded in 1985. Its most prestigious course of study, initiated two years ago, is a 3-year degree in Industrial Design, organized in partnership with the University of Venice. The course, with a restricted number of participants, offers a basic preparation in the design of industrial products. The academic year 2007-2008 will see the institution of a new course with a degree in Civil Engineering. Other highly qualified courses offered by the University are: Master in Communications, Management and New Media as well as Criminology and Forensic Psychiatry. The University also offers courses by correspondence (telematics) in Administration and Economics and in Economics and Management of Touristic Services.
