Geology San Marino

The territory is a clay soil, hilly area with limestone promontories and is dissected by three river basins:

- the Ausa torrent, which flows into the Adriatic Sea at Rimini,
- the Marano torrent which flows into the Adriatic Sea at Riccione,
- the San Marino torrent which feeds into the Marecchia River.
