Types of stay
The Republic distributes hospitality across several altitudes. At the top, in the historic centre of the City, are hotels of various categories, from historic structures to more recent design openings. At mid-slope and in the lower Castelli follow B&Bs, residences and family-run inns. Near the road gateways from Romagna are concentrated instead equipped motorhome areas and campsites, with pitches and bungalows.
The main decision concerns the position: in the historic centre, to live San Marino in the calm hours, just before the arrival of the tourist flow; in one of the lower Castelli, for more sober rates and parking convenience. Those who combine sea and Titano have as a third option the Romagna Riviera, about 25 km of motorway away and served by frequent buses.
Where to eat
The gastronomic offering covers a wide range. The piadinerie, often family-run, cover the quick meal with piadina, cassoni and stuffed crescioni. The trattorie of the historic centre and the Castelli propose traditional Sammarinese and Romagnola cuisine with dishes such as passatelli in broth, tagliolini with herbs, rabbit porchetta-style and desserts like the Torta Tre Monti and bustrengo. The panoramic restaurants overlooking the valley add a research cuisine menu and a structured cellar.

Parking and access
The historic centre of the City of San Marino is a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL): access is reserved for permit holders, including guests of accommodation properties inside the ZTL, who receive the permit directly from the hotelier. For parking, the Republic applies to guests of associated properties a discounted rate of € 6.00 per night in the gated car parks. Recognition is via licence plate, communicated to the property at booking or check-in.
