Privacy policy
Introduction
This privacy policy describes how personal data of users visiting the sanmarinosite.com website is processed, in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable Italian legislation.
The site is purely informational. It does not use analytics, profiling, marketing, advertising or third-party tracking tools.
Data controller
The data controller is the operator of the sanmarinosite.com website, who can be contacted at info@sanmarinosite.com.
Categories of data processed
The site collects only data strictly necessary for its technical operation:
- Browsing data (server logs): IP addresses, browser user agent, requested URLs, date and time of requests, HTTP response codes. These are automatically collected by the web server for security and diagnostic purposes and are not used to identify users.
- Data voluntarily provided by the user: where the user chooses to write to the contact address, the data contained in the message (name, email address, content of the communication) will be processed solely to respond to the request.
The site does not use:
- profiling, marketing or analytics cookies;
- traffic analysis tools (Google Analytics, Matomo, Plausible or equivalent);
- third-party tracking pixels;
- embedded external content (YouTube, Vimeo, maps, social widgets);
- registration, authentication or newsletter forms.

Data retention
Web server logs are retained for the period strictly necessary for security purposes, normally no longer than thirty days. Email communications are retained for the time required to handle the user's request and, where relevant, to fulfil any subsequent legal obligations.
Sub-processors
The hosting infrastructure is provided by SiteGround Hosting Ltd. (Sofia, Bulgaria), acting as data processor under Art. 28 GDPR for the storage of the site's files and logs.
Server-side requests to the Open-Meteo weather service (open-meteo.com) are made from the site's infrastructure without forwarding any user data: the API only receives the IP address of the hosting server, never the user's IP.
The site does not share data with other third parties and does not transfer data outside the European Economic Area.
Rights of the data subject
Under Articles 15-22 GDPR, the user has the right to:
- access their personal data and obtain a copy;
- request rectification or erasure;
- request restriction of processing or object to processing;
- receive their data in a structured, portable format;
- lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Italy: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).
Requests can be sent to info@sanmarinosite.com. The controller responds within one month, save for justified extensions under Art. 12(3) GDPR.

This privacy policy may be updated at any time. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time of consultation.
